Prudence over Envy
We are participants in shaping our own character. We get to choose. We decide whether it will be evil or good that forms our selves. But it’s not so much the big decisions in life which determine our character, it's the little choices—the white lie, the hidden lust, the secret pride or resentment. Each small indulgence makes the next one easier. And it is the small acts of kindness or charity or faith —each decision for virtue—that makes our next decision for good more natural.
This week we explored the power of prudence over envy. Envy is the desire for what others have; Prudence is the care of and moderation with what we do have.
