Coming up in Gateway Kids - Aug 31

We'll be reviewing our three basic truths: God made me. God loves me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

We’ll close out the month by returning to the book of James. In Chapter 2:1-5 we’ll learn that with God it doesn’t matter what people look like on the outside. We should respect all people because they are valuable to God. Our Bottom Line is: Respect others because they are important to God. Everyone has value because they were created in God’s image.

Week 5 Elementary God Time Devotional

Each day’s devotion includes:

1. a verse(s) to read
2. a devotion paragraph that teaches something about God and an explanation of today’s verse(s)
3. an activity that makes real-life application of the day’s devotion
4. a suggested prayer.

Encourage kids to choose four different days during the week to do these devotions. Even though kids in early elementary are beginning to read things on their own, you may want to do the GodTime card with your K-3rd grade child. Most 4th and 5th graders are capable of having a “quiet time” on their own, once they’ve been taught how to do it, but they still benefit from an adult following up on it.
