Coming up in Gateway Kids - Sept. 14

We will be celebrating Baby Dedications this morning at the beginning of the service. We are looking forward to joining with 5 different families and committing to come alongside their 6 children as they raise their children to grow in the grace and knowledge of God.

Preschool/Toddler:
God speaks to Moses through a burning bush (Exodus 3). God can speak to us anytime, anywhere.

Elementary:
We’ll look at 1 Kings 19:16-21 and 2 Kings 2:1-15. Elijah was nearing the end of his work as God’s prophet. God chose Elisha to carry on the work. But first, Elisha had some things to learn. Our Bottom Line is: Show you can be trusted to lead by learning how to follow. We all want to lead, but we need to learn from our leaders before we can be in charge.

Week 2 Elementary God Time Devotional

Each day’s devotion includes:

1. a verse(s) to read
2. a devotion paragraph that teaches something about God and an explanation of today’s verse(s)
3. an activity that makes real-life application of the day’s devotion
4. a suggested prayer.

Encourage kids to choose four different days during the week to do these devotions. Even though kids in early elementary are beginning to read things on their own, you may want to do the GodTime card with your K-3rd grade child. Most 4th and 5th graders are capable of having a “quiet time” on their own, once they’ve been taught how to do it, but they still benefit from an adult following up on it.
