Prayers of the People
When we gather in the name of Jesus, more is happening than meets the naked eye. Our inner-woman and inner-man are called out into the open space of God's love revealed in Jesus. When we gather in the name of Jesus, we can experience the Divine. Curiously enough, God often chooses to move through you and me to remind us of who and whose we are, the beloved of God. And yet it's not very often that there is space to bring our grief, joy, frustration, and gladness into the presence of God's gathered people. So, we thought we'd try. That's what 5th Sundays are for our community, or at least what we hope they will become; namely, a space to pray, hope, dream, lament, and praise in the name of Jesus together in Des Moines as it is in Heaven.
