A New Chapter Unfolds
The transformation of the second floor of the Fleming Building is well underway. After months of preparation, we’re excited to share that significant progress is being made on the project. Here’s an update on what’s happening behind the scenes:
Wall construction: The skeleton of our space has taken shape, with the framing of walls now completed. Walking through the space, you can begin to imagine the flow and feel of the new layout.
Door frame installation: Door frames are being installed, marking another step toward defining the individual rooms and areas.
Stage construction: The stage is coming to life, and the ADA-accessible ramp is being installed. This platform will soon host worship, teaching, concerts, talks, and more.
Electrical work: Behind the walls, the essential electrical systems are being installed. From lighting to sound equipment, powering these unseen but critical components will ensure the space is functional and welcoming for all.
How you can be involved
Every step of this construction process is focused on creating a space reflecting our heart for the city. We envision a sanctuary where people feel at home. As construction continues, there are several ways you can partner with us:
Pray: Join us in praying for the safety of the workers, the progress of the project, and the impact this space will have on our community. Please pray for wisdom, strength, and endurance for Gateway’s leaders and staff.
Volunteer: Opportunities to lend a hand with tasks like painting and other aspects of the build-out will be coming soon. Keep an eye out for updates.
Give: Renovations like these require significant resources, and every gift helps move us closer to completion. If you’d like to contribute financially, click here to give online.
We are filled with gratitude for all that God is doing here. Stay tuned for more updates and glimpses into the progress. Thank you for being part of this journey.
A Seat for Everyone
This weekend, we hit an exciting milestone as Gateway staff and volunteers brought back 200 chairs from Omaha to fill our sanctuary, classrooms, and gathering spaces in the Fleming Building. On Sunday, our team set out on the trip, and upon return, a group of dedicated volunteers helped unload and set up the chairs in our new space.
These chairs aren’t just seating—they’re a place for connection, worship, and growth. Each represents a welcoming spot for someone in our community, helping us prepare a space where everyone can belong.
Thank you to everyone who’s pitched in along the way. Your support, whether through volunteering, giving, or cheering us on, is transforming this building into a true community home. Stay tuned as we get closer to opening day!

Volunteer Demo Day
Members of The Gateway Church volunteered their Saturdays to complete demolition work on the second floor of the Fleming Building. They removed partition walls, disassembled office furniture, and thoroughly cleaned the space, making way for construction to begin. The sanctuary and pre-function spaces are now ready for the next phase of the project.
Demo underway
Demolition of the existing glass partitions in the future sanctuary and pre-function spaces has been completed. Demo of unused electrical in partition walls has also been completed.
