Annual Meeting
For those who call Gateway home, or are considering spending more time here, we would like to invite you to our Annual Meeting immediately following our weekly service in person on Feb 16.
Join us as we reflect on the past year and dream about the future. We will have updates on our space, vote on the continuation of board terms, present financial information, and generally discuss the state and direction of our church.
If you are a member or would like to become one, this is also when you would re-confirm your membership status and your desire to receive care from The Gateway Church.

TAF: Songwriters Workshop
Songwriters Workshops will be a continuation of the events
formerly known as “Songwriters Nights.” They are an opportunity for local Christian songwriters to come together to do some songwriting exercises and co-writing activities. The goal of these evenings is to grow in the craft of songwriting, and to make connections with fellow Christian songwriters that could lead to future collaborations.

TAF: Feedback Loop
Feedback Loop events will provide artists with a chance to share their work and gain commentary and support from their fellow creatives. Both songwriters and makers are invited to join.
Participants will be organized into smaller groups based on
similar mediums. The goal will be to create a safe space for
artists to share a piece they have been working on and have the option to open it up to feedback/critique.

TAF: Showcase
About:
Showcases will provide a platform for individual songwriters to perform original songs, while also allowing visual artists to exhibit some of their creations.
Registration:
Registration is required for those who wish to perform (songwriters) or to display their work (artists). These registrations may be subject to review depending on the space available.
Registration is not required for audience members but it is appreciated as it helps us plan accordingly.

Trivia Night
It's time for another Trivia Night! We always try to pick a date near a lesser-celebrated holiday and this time we're doing Groundhog Day!
Get a team together or come solo and we'll connect you with others to take on some rounds of trivia, maybe even win some prizes! Kids are also invited to join in the fun!

Makers Workshop
About:
Makers Workshops is a new event as a part of The Artist Fellowship. These workshops will provide a platform for artists and creatives to collaborate, learn from each other, and create together. For our February workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of watercolor followed by time to work on 5x7 pieces. All skill levels are welcome but these workshops are geared towards adults.

Songwriters Night Showcase
Songwriters Night is a chance for Christian songwriters in the area to come together to practice the craft of songwriting, do a little co-writing, and hopefully make connections for future collaborations. This time around is a Showcase where we'll be sharing the songs we have been working on and we'd love to have people come listen! Join us on January 5th, at 6:30pm, and feel free to invite others to join us! This is a free event.

Christmas Eve Service
Join us on Tuesday, December 24, at 5 p.m. for a special Christmas Eve service at the historic Fleming Building in Downtown Des Moines! Ash Wednesday Service
We invite you to join us on February 22nd at 12pm for our special Ash Wednesday Service. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season in the Church. Lent is a time for us to reflect on our own sinfulness, turn towards repentance, and acknowledge our need for salvation. We invite you to take part in our Ash Wednesday Service and the Imposition of Ashes.
We will be meeting in the space next door to Gravitate Downtown (more details to come).

Four times a year a single month contains five Sundays. We want to take these Sundays to attend to cultivate delight. Here's what to expect on 5th Sundays:
We will begin with a time of worship and praying together (family style - there will not be Gateway Kid's care/classes this week)
This time will not be recorded so we will not have a livestream this week.
We'll also be sharing a meal together! We will have some food provided but if you would like to help us fill out the meal, please feel free to bring something.
