Some two thousand years ago, in an upper room within the city of peace - Jerusalem - faithfulness blended with hope forming a potent cocktail of expectation. Women and men indelibly marked by Jesus of Nazareth yearned for God's presence. Then in a flash of wonder and wind, divine love swept through this budding community.
Acts 2:1-4
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Leading up to June 5th, Pentecost Sunday we desire to stoke the coals of expectation for Jesus' Spirit to release hope in and through the budding Jesus community in Des Moines.
For the Month of May, starting May 1st, we invite you - as you're able - to come and join us at Gravitate Downtown for prayer at 9 am. Watch IG and your inbox for more to come.
