Home Stretch

We’re almost there! After months of planning and working, our new home at the Fleming Building is truly coming to life. If you’ve stepped inside recently, you’ve seen the transformation firsthand—but if not, here’s a glimpse at what’s been happening and what’s still to come.

Progress so far

The past few weeks have been a flurry of activity, with major milestones being completed:

  • Carpet installed – The floors are looking fresh and ready for weekend gatherings and weekday events.

  • New sanctuary lighting & smart controls – Our worship space now has improved lighting that enhances visibility and atmosphere, with dimmable smart functionality for added control.

  • Track lighting in the entryway – First impressions matter, and our new entryway lighting makes the space warm and inviting from the moment you walk in.

  • Audio-video booth nearly completed – The heart of our tech setup is now in place, making gatherings and events run smoothly for volunteers.

  • New speakers & soundboard installed – Our sound system is now clearer and provides a more consistent listening experience throughout the sanctuary.

  • Grease trap installed in the kitchen – A big step toward making our kitchen fully functional for future gatherings and hospitality.

Already coming to life

Even as construction continues, the building is already serving its purpose! We’ve hosted a successful trivia night, and we also held our annual member meeting, bringing our church together as we reflect and plan. These events have been a glimpse of the vibrant life that will soon fill this space every week.

What’s next?

We’re on the home stretch, but there’s still important work to be done:

  • New primary entrance & interior doors – This will improve access and flow throughout the building.

  • Painting the walls – Fresh paint will bring everything together, making the space feel more finished and welcoming.

  • Livestream cameras permantly installed – Enhancing how we share our services online, keeping everyone connected.

  • Upgraded media computer – This will improve production and simplify processes for volunteers and staff.

  • Mounting stage lighting & controls – Final touches for making our worship space fully functional.

  • Wireless internet & classroom lighting upgrades – Helping the entire space be more usable for both worship and community events.

We’re so close to the finish line! Thank you to everyone who has supported this project through giving, serving, and praying. We couldn’t do this without you.

A New Chapter Unfolds

The transformation of the second floor of the Fleming Building is well underway. After months of preparation, we’re excited to share that significant progress is being made on the project. Here’s an update on what’s happening behind the scenes:

  • Wall construction: The skeleton of our space has taken shape, with the framing of walls now completed. Walking through the space, you can begin to imagine the flow and feel of the new layout.

  • Door frame installation: Door frames are being installed, marking another step toward defining the individual rooms and areas.

  • Stage construction: The stage is coming to life, and the ADA-accessible ramp is being installed. This platform will soon host worship, teaching, concerts, talks, and more.

  • Electrical work: Behind the walls, the essential electrical systems are being installed. From lighting to sound equipment, powering these unseen but critical components will ensure the space is functional and welcoming for all.

How you can be involved

Every step of this construction process is focused on creating a space reflecting our heart for the city. We envision a sanctuary where people feel at home. As construction continues, there are several ways you can partner with us:

  • Pray: Join us in praying for the safety of the workers, the progress of the project, and the impact this space will have on our community. Please pray for wisdom, strength, and endurance for Gateway’s leaders and staff.

  • Volunteer: Opportunities to lend a hand with tasks like painting and other aspects of the build-out will be coming soon. Keep an eye out for updates.

  • Give: Renovations like these require significant resources, and every gift helps move us closer to completion. If you’d like to contribute financially, click here to give online.

We are filled with gratitude for all that God is doing here. Stay tuned for more updates and glimpses into the progress. Thank you for being part of this journey.

A Seat for Everyone

This weekend, we hit an exciting milestone as Gateway staff and volunteers brought back 200 chairs from Omaha to fill our sanctuary, classrooms, and gathering spaces in the Fleming Building. On Sunday, our team set out on the trip, and upon return, a group of dedicated volunteers helped unload and set up the chairs in our new space.

These chairs aren’t just seating—they’re a place for connection, worship, and growth. Each represents a welcoming spot for someone in our community, helping us prepare a space where everyone can belong.

Thank you to everyone who’s pitched in along the way. Your support, whether through volunteering, giving, or cheering us on, is transforming this building into a true community home. Stay tuned as we get closer to opening day!
